Focus Group Summary

Rector Traits -1

We are an authentically welcoming, diverse, and relaxed community that feels like family.  Our intergenerational congregation especially takes to heart Jesus’ words to “let the children come.” Whether it’s Sunday Service, Sunday school, special services, or mission trips; children and youth are always welcome and embraced. We hold long-time connections serving our community and are wishing to expand those community connections with growing service and outreach.

Rector Traits-2

We love the family-like feel of St. Mark’s, and we hope to expand our family with the help of a rector who possesses a faith and energy that draws others in. In a new rector, we are seeking a priest who values pastoral care and relationships as much as we do now and have in the past, as well as our ever-strengthening relationship with San Marcos.  We pray for someone with the skills who can lead us in the organizational and structural improvements we know are necessary for our future. Our new rector will be eager to be involved in all ministries while valuing the lay leadership that is so instrumental to St. Mark’s. Our new rector will help us grow and build our community connections and help us not only “open the door to Christ’s love”, but also show Christ’s love to those outside of our doors.
