Fellowship Ministries

St. Mark’s hosts fellowship events such as Sunday coffee hour, mission trip fundraisers, cookouts and St. Mark’s in the Park picnics.

Every Thursday morning at 10 a.m., the “Holy Folders” (a group of volunteers) meet for fellowship and to fold and assemble the Sunday bulletins and announcements.

Each year, St. Mark’s parishioners gather at Shrine Mont conference center located in Orkney Springs, Virginia, in the beautiful cool foothills of the Shenandoah Valley for a weekend of outdoor activities or “just to chill”.

INTERESTED IN HELPING THOSE IN NEED?                     Serving Others

Volunteers join together to provide meals under the Pastoral Care Ministry and the Fairfax County Nurturing Parenting Dinners.

Volunteers provide support to the United Community Ministries and join together to help those less fortunate during the winter season by supporting the Fairfax County Ventures in Community’s Hypothermia Outreach Program, Crop Walk, Send a Kid to Camp and Walk for the Homeless.

We also support the United Thank Offering (UTO), a nationally sponsored program that provides financial support via grants to organizations worldwide. This monetary collection is twice a year, the spring (in May) and the fall (in November).

Each year, St. Mark’s families participates in the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree Program which benefits children aged 12 and below living in the Southeast corridor of Fairfax County and the City of Alexandria.  Our families enjoy selecting one or more children from the Salvation Army’s list to buy gifts for that child.  Initially it was an experience that the adults thoroughly enjoyed, but now their children are excited about picking out toys and clothes for these less fortunate children.

WE WOULD LOVE TO HAVE NEW VOLUNTEERS!  - If interested, please contact one of the Vestry members to get connected!
