The Rev. John C. N. Hall, Interim Rector

The Rev. John C. N. Hall is our Interim Rector. John will serve St. Mark’s in this the important role during the coming year as we work through our transition period.

He brings to St. Mark's many gifts as an administrative leader, team coordinator and ministry developer, engaging teacher and preacher, and pastoral care provider. In his ordained ministry, Father John has served eight congregations in four states. A graduate of Virginia Seminary here in Alexandria, he holds a Doctor of Ministry degree from Seabury Western Seminary as well. In 2001, John founded, nurtured, and incorporated Matthew's Crossing Food Bank, a community-based non-profit now serving more than 50,000 clients each year. John is married to Jean Hall. Jean has lived in the Philippines, Brazil, and Mexico. She earned a Master of International Management degree from Thunderbird School of Global Management. John and Jean enjoy restoring antique furniture, especially chairs with cane seats. Many of their projects may be seen on their Raising Cane Facebook page. Together, John and Jean have four adult sons and three daughters-in-law, two grandchildren (with another on the way), and a Labrador Retriever named Ruby.
